There is no rule that says growth has to happen in the ugliest, most destructive way possible. With a little imagination, growth could actually do the region some good as well as make good money for local land and business owners.

Just as an example, many people are moving to the Chino Valley area to retire. Several local business and land owners are forming plans to create retirement communities. These businesses are likely to be quite profitable as baby boomers retire, and they contribute a much needed service. Maybe Chino Valley could earn the EPA’s award for Excellence in Building Healthy Communities for Active Aging and become recognized around the country for being the best place to retire.
